Jean Grimes

Jean joined Midnight’s about 2 years ago. She has always done a variety of animal care volunteer jobs (cats and dogs, wildlife). As a former rider, she decided to try a horse rescue. Jean loves the small setting and the personalities of our horses. She loves that she has been able to bond with these sweet, gentle creatures!

Jenelle Catalina

The Icore Family

Jenelle joined MERAS in October of 2020, after moving to Fort Detrick. She volunteers on Sunday mornings and loves spending time with the horses and two barn kittens, Kibbles & Bits. Originally from Upstate NY, Midnight's has become a second home for Jenelle. Pursuing a career in veterinary medicine, she originally joined to gain large animal experience, but has gained much more. Volunteering has been instrumental to her well-being while in the Army, and she believes it could do the same for other servicemembers, veterans, and volunteers.

Jessica McVey

Jessica joined Midnight’s in January of 2017, when her son was required to complete community service hours. After helping her son finish his hours, Jessica continued as a volunteer. She developed a soft spot for Simba, a skittish horse at the time, and made it her mission to bond and socialize with him. A busy mom of 5 and grandmother of 3, she has been unable to visit the rescue as often as she’d like. However, the horses, Wendy, and the other volunteers have made a positive impact on her life, and Midnight’s continues to be her happy place.
